PERLITE CANADA ANNOUNCES ITS RESULTS FOR ITS 
SECOND QUARTER OF 2009

MONTREAL, QUEBEC - Perlite Canada inc. (the "company") announces hereby the results of its second quarter 2009 ended on April 30, 2009.

For that period, total sales were $2,343,452 generating a net loss of $125,264 compared to sales of $1,024,569 and a net loss of $62,197 for the second quarter of 2008. For the half-year period, sales were $3,684,912 generating a net loss of $351,587 compared to sales of $1,972,465 as at April 30, 2008 generating a net loss of $110,691.

This increase of the sales by approximately 129% during the second quarter 2009 is mainly attributable to the acquisition of the Lachine Plant. The loss posted during the second quarter 2009 is explained by the increase of the operating costs and expenses generated by this acquisition.

The acquisition of the Lachine Plant allowed to increase significantly the business income of the company for the six months period ended as at April 30, 2009. The management will work to complete integration of this plant to its activities and maximize the synergies and new markets generated by this acquisition.

Perlite Canada inc. specializes in the processing, distribution and sale of perlite and vermiculite, two minerals used in industry and horticulture.

The common shares of Perlite Canada Inc. are listed for trading on the TSX Venture Exchange.
