MONTREAL, March 11, 2003 – Perlite Canada Inc. is pleased to welcome two new members to its Board of Directors: Messrs. Gilles Paquet et Martin Joyal.

Gilles Paquet is the President of Traitement Jonquières Inc. He is also a Director of Matamic Explorations Inc. which shares are quoted on the TSX Venture Exchange.

Martin Joyal graduated from the Université de Montréal in 1992. He has been a member of the Bar of Québec since 1993. He is a partner of the law firm Lavery, de Billy where he specializes in business law, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions.

Perlite Canada Inc. has become a leading company in Canada in the processing, distribution and sale of perlite and vermiculite, two minerals used in industry and horticulture.
